(Urban) word/phrase of the week:

So here is the urban word of the week, people. This is probably my favourite find so far:

Pretext

The definition:

To pretend to text someone in order to avoid awkward face-to-face situations. This happens most often when talking to someone you don’t really know, or when you don’t want to look weird while waiting for the bus.

Long description, I know, but haven’t we all been guilty of this at some time or another?

Here’s an example from the book:

My crush, Addie, and I have run out of things to talk about, so I will pretext to avoid any awkward silences

Return next week for more.

That is all.
